An E-ZPass is a small electronic transponder that is used to pay tolls for trips across 17 US states. You don’t need to stop to pay a toll. The transponder is mounted on your vehicle’s windshield. When you travel on any toll road, thruway, tunnel, or bridge, the transponder charges your E-ZPass account for the appropriate toll.I went through a few tolls and did not pay bc I did not have any change on me at the time. I forgot to go back online and pay because this was my vacation. Now I have a violation letter in the mail from the Ilinois Tollway saying I must pay or they will petition the secretary of state to have my vehicle reg. and/or driver's license suspended..
